About Recrue Media & The Team

Founded in 2007, Recrue Media's mission is to enable media partners to leverage their unique advertiser relationships to build substantial digital advertising businesses. The founders' experience as managers and operators have enabled Recrue to develop a methodical approach to implementing a digital sales program that scales to capture the enormous revenue potential of third party audience sales. We appreciate the deep customer relationships that local and specialized sales teams have created over years, and understand how to provide programs that salespeople can effectively present to their customers. Media companies, whether at the local level like newspapers, television and radio, or at the national level like trade publications, are always best positioned to transition their customers into the digital mainstream. It is our goal to help our partners realize that potential and capitalize on the opportunity it presents.


Steven Bogue

STEVEN BOGUE

Founder and Managing Principal

Before starting Recrue Media, Steven was founder and President of the Mathews Marketing Group, a research-driven target marketing firm applying comprehensive data applications to produce highly targeted consumer media plans and advertising campaigns. Industry focuses were in the areas of automotive, tourism, movies, resort entertainment, healthcare and telecommunications. He lead the implementation of multi-year programs for Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, HealthNet, Canadian Tourism, British Air, Verizon, AT&T and over 220 other national brands. Advertising programs incorporated direct and targeted print distribution supported by email, on-line display and event marketing. Over a 12 year period, Mathews developed over 3,000 national and regional sponsored target market advertising programs across a client base of nearly 230 individual brands.

At Recrue, Steven developed the first retargeting application designed specifically for the higher education sector. He directs all targeted display and retargeting solutions for college and university student recruitment and institutional development (fundraising and endowment). His daily responsibilities include the direction and management of Recrue's affiliate partnership with Carnegie Communications, the nation's largest provider of student recruitment solutions, working with nearly 750 institutions. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Steven lives in the Newport area with his wife and four children.

Mark Landon

Mark Landon

Founder and Managing Principal

Prior to launching Recrue Media, Mark was President of Landon Media Group, a newspaper sales and marketing company managing several high profile, category specific businesses, including Recruitment Marketplace, Movie Marketplace, Automotive Marketplace and other national categories. Each platform focused on key industry verticals to design media plans and campaign execution of both digital and off-line programs. By designing category specific research matched to local media placement, these custom applications allowed advertisers to identify and prioritize their best revenue potential markets. Used extensively by all major movie studios, distributors, corporate HR consultants, and employment advertising agencies, the Landon Marketplace business units became leading industry resources until their acquisition by Rec Hall Communications in 2009. Earlier in his career, Mark was a Retail Sales Director with the Los Angeles Times, and a Radio Sales Executive with Katz Media Group in New York and Los Angeles.

At Recrue, Mark develops and manages the client partnerships and marketing programs. He received his undergraduate degree from Ithaca College and has an MBA from Pepperdine University. Mark lives in the Palos Verdes area of Los Angeles, CA with his wife and three children.
